Equity – The real-time value of the trading account, equal to balance + unrealized P/L of open trades. In other words, equity is what the account is actually worth if all trades were closed at current prices. For example, if your account balance is $10,000 and you have open trades netting a $500 profit, your equity is $10,500. When trades move into loss, equity falls below balance.
