MetaTrader 4 – The classic MetaQuotes trading platform (released 2005) for Forex/futures. MT4 supports automated trading via EAs, 9 chart timeframes, 30 built-in indicators, and manual trading with basic order types. It has 2 market order types (buy/sell), 4 pending orders (BuyLimit, SellLimit, BuyStop, SellStop), stop-loss, take-profit, and trailing stop. MT4 is primarily for Forex/CFDs and does not include multi-currency strategy testing or the Depth of Market feature of MT5.
