Alpha Model

Alpha Model - A quantitative framework or predictive model that generates trading signals believed to produce “alpha” (excess return). An alpha model identifies assets expected to outperform (or underperform) peers based on factors or patterns, using statistical or machine-learning techniques. In automated trading, the alpha model is the strategy engine that produces buy/sell signals fed into execution and risk modules.
