API (Application Programming Interface)

API - A software interface that allows trading algorithms to communicate with data sources or broker platforms. In forex robots, APIs connect the trading system to a broker’s server to fetch real-time price quotes and execute orders. For example, brokers often provide APIs so that algorithms can “directly connect their software with the brokerage account to share real-time prices and place orders”.
