API (Application Programming Interface)

API - A set of rules and protocols that enable one software component to communicate with another. In Forex trading, APIs allow trading bots or tools to request data (like price quotes) or send commands (like order placements) to other systems (e.g. broker servers or data services). For example, a RESTful broker API might let an EA fetch real-time prices or submit orders via HTTP requests. Traders typically interact with APIs indirectly (via platform plugins or EAs), while developers use them directly to integrate custom trading applications.
