The total amount of money in your trading account excluding any current profits or losses from open positions. It’s essentially your account value after closing all trades. For example, if you deposit $1,000 and have no open trades, your balance is $1,000. (If you close some trades in profit, those profits are added to the balance.) In contrast to Equity, balance does not fluctuate with live trade P/L. In simple terms, “Balance is all the money you have in your trading account” (when no trades are open).
