The maximum peak-to-trough drop in account balance during a period. It is reported as both a currency amount and a percentage. This is calculated as the largest drop from any local high point to the subsequent low point. For instance, if the balance peaked at $10,000 then fell to $8,000 before recovering, the maximal drawdown is $2,000 (or 20%). MT5 lists this as “Balance Drawdown Maximal” (the largest equity drop and its percentage).
