Consumer Price Index (CPI)

Consumer Price Index - A monthly economic indicator measuring the average change in prices paid by consumers for a basket of goods and services. CPI is a common measure of inflation. In forex, higher-than-expected CPI often strengthens the local currency (via tightening expectations), while low CPI may weaken it.
