Robots may use economic indicators to gauge trend direction or risk appetite. For example, “economic indicators are statistical data points or metrics that provide insights into the overall health and direction of an economy”. Trading algorithms may incorporate these releases as data inputs or use their schedules (via the economic calendar) to adjust positions.
