The account balance plus or minus any currently open (unrealized) profit or loss. Unlike Balance which only counts closed trades, Equity fluctuates with open trades. For instance, if the account balance is $5,000 and there is a $200 unrealized profit, the equity is $5,200. cTrader and MetaTrader may report both metrics: Balance (cash) and Equity (cash + floating P/L).
