Futures Contract

Futures Contract - A standardized contract traded on an exchange to buy or sell a specific asset (commodity, currency, etc.) at a set price on a set future date. Currency futures (e.g. EUR/USD futures) are used by traders to speculate or hedge on exchange rate movements. Unlike forwards, futures have clearinghouses, daily settling, and are marked-to-market.
