Git - Git is a distributed version control system (VCS) widely used for software development. It manages source code history via commits, branches, tags, and repositories. MetaTrader 5’s MQL5 Storage (MetaEditor’s built-in VCS) was upgraded from Subversion to Git – the industry standard for developers – to provide more flexibility and reliability in code management. With Git, EA developers can work offline, make local commits, create feature branches, and merge changes easily. Its popularity means many Forex strategy projects now store their code in Git repositories (e.g. on GitHub or Bitbucket).
