In-Sample Data

In-Sample Data - The portion of historical data used for optimizing (training) the robot’s parameters. In walk-forward or forward testing, this is the segment of quotes over which the optimizer runs. For example, when doing a walk-forward, the first window of data is in-sample. Good in-sample performance is necessary but not sufficient for a robust strategy.
