Interest Rate - The percentage charged by lenders for borrowing money (or paid on deposits). In forex, central bank policy rates are paramount: higher domestic rates tend to attract capital and strengthen the currency, all else equal. Traders watch rate announcements (and futures) closely. Algorithmic strategies may incorporate interest rate differentials between currency pairs.
