Legacy Code
Legacy Code - Legacy code refers to older software code that uses outdated technologies or practices. It typically belongs to systems no longer actively maintained. In trading, legacy code might be an old EA written for MetaTrader 4 when MT5 is now preferred. While legacy code may still “work,” it often lacks documentation and is harder to update. Organizations often have to manage legacy strategy code by refactoring or replacing it to stay compatible with modern platforms and standards.
