Liquidity Provider – An institution (often a bank or market maker) that quotes buy and sell prices and stands ready to fill orders. Forex liquidity providers supply continuous bid/ask quotes, ensuring there is volume in the market. Brokers aggregate quotes from multiple providers. A liquidity provider maintains depth and tight spreads, letting a robot execute trades efficiently. Quadcode describes LPs as entities “ready to buy or sell currency pairs at any given time, providing two-way prices”. In coding, some platforms allow selecting different LPs or bridging (e.g. cTrader’s ECN pools).
