The single largest drop from a peak to a trough in balance or equity (whichever is reported). In MT5 this is the “Balance Drawdown Maximal” and “Equity Drawdown Maximal” fields. It is usually presented in currency and as a percentage. For example, a 25% max drawdown means the account lost 25% of its value from peak to lowest point. This is a critical measure of risk tolerance.
