A machine-learning model inspired by brain neurons, used to model complex patterns. In Forex trading, artificial neural networks (ANNs) take inputs like price/volume data and transform them through layers of weighted “neurons” to predict future prices or generate trade signals. As Investopedia notes, a neural network is “a series of algorithms…that mimics how the human brain works” to recognize relationships in data. Forex robots may use ANNs for advanced signal generation or alpha models, training on historical price action to forecast short-term movements. However, neural nets are typically “black-box” (see above) and require careful training to avoid overfitting.
