Strategy Tester - MetaTrader’s built-in backtester for EAs. Running an EA in the Strategy Tester simulates its behavior on historical data. In visual mode the chart updates and can hit breakpoints, while non-visual mode runs faster without showing the chart. cTrader’s equivalent is the Backtesting tool. Strategy testing is essential to reproduce bugs in a controlled environment.
