Time in Force (TIF)

Time in Force (TIF) - Instructions attached to an order that determine its lifetime. Examples include GTC, IOC, FOK, GTT, and “Good for Day.” TIF gives robots control over how long orders should remain active if not immediately executed. For instance, a robot might use TimeInForce.Day for a one-session order or GTC for a longer pending entry. TIF parameters help align order behavior with strategy timing requirements.
